I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at Utrecht University and a member of the Interuniversity Center for Social Science Theory and Methodology (ICS). My research interests include social stratification, the sociology of education, segregation, and social network analysis. In my research, I use large-scale data from administrative sources and surveys and quantitative research methods.

Prior to my appointment at Utrecht University, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence. In the LEARN project (Longitudinal Educational Achievements: Reducing iNequalities), I conducted research on the development of educational inequalities and the effectiveness of policy interventions aimed at reducing these inequalities. In January 2025, I received my PhD from the University of Amsterdam with a dissertation on socioeconomic differences in secondary school choice and the role of peers in educational decision-making.
