Danai Nikolakopoulou is a PhD candidate, affiliated to the research institutes ERI and RENFORCE. Her research project deals with the enforcement of the prohibition of workplace sexual harassment, in the context of the European Union and the International Labour Organisation. The research project is both doctrinal and empirical, while Greece is chosen as a case study. The empirical methods employed for the purposes of the project are a survey with Greek persons who have experienced incidents constituting workplace sexual harassment and interviews with Greek stakeholders, e.g. the Ombudsperson and the Labour Inspectorate. The legal fields of interest are: labour law, tort law, non-discrimination, European and International law. The PhD trajectory is supervised by prof. mr. dr. Rianka Rijnhout LLM, dr. Sonja Bekker and mr. dr. Nataschja Hummel.
Danai studied Law at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and Labour Law and Employment Relations at Tilburg University. She is a member of the Bar in Thessaloniki, Greece. She is also a member of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Sounding Board of the School of Law.
