2021-ongoing Universität Hamburg (UHH), Post-doc Research Associate at WONAGO – World Order Narratives of the Global South – in collaboration with GIGA German Institute for Global and Area Studies. Herein, I research the long-term cultural and global order effects of the colonial photography genre as a highly racialised stereotyping tool for colonisers with interests in sub-Saharan Africa in particular. So-called viewing or seeing traditions are analysed and how they affect (inter)racial and intersectional gender interactions up until the 21st century. This can be seen in BLM protests, restitution debates, the toppling of colonial statues and gender debates. Click here for more (second book project).
