Daan Bossuyt is an Assistant Professor of Spatial Planning at Utrecht University, in the Department of Human Geography and Spatial Planning. His research focuses on the relationship between politics and urban development and housing. His expertise lies at the intersection of policy, theory, and practice.

Daan is involved in various courses in the Bachelor's and Master's programs, including the Planning Atelier (Coordinator). This is a community engaged learning course in which students collaborate with municipalities and local organizations on concrete spatial assignments. In recent years, students have worked with the Municipality of Zwolle (2023); Municipality of Rotterdam (2024); and the Municipality of The Hague (2025).
