Deana Jovanovic is the Honorary Fellow of  School of Social Science & Public Policy (Keele University) and the Honorary Fellow of the Leibniz Institute for East and Southeast European Studies (IOS) in Regensburg (Germany).

She is a member of the Editorial Board of The Sociological Review, Britain's oldest sociology journal.

During her PhD Deana received the Royal Anthropological Institute of Great Britain and Ireland (RAI) Sutasoma Award, for work likely to make an outstanding contribution to social anthropology.
