Project leader Research Portal

Researchers must arrange a number of matters, especially if they work with participants, for example test subjects or respondents: the research must be assessed (mandatory for the Faculty of Humanities) by the FEtC-H, a data management plan must be drawn up, and the Processing Register will soon be added: the GDPR requires organizations such as the UU to register which personal data are processed for academic research.

The Faculty of Humanities  and the Faculty of Law, Economics and Governance have decided to jointly develop a Research Portal, in which all processes surrounding research are linked together and are expected to result in less work.

Since 1 April 2024, I have been appointed as project leader of this Research Portal. As secretary/member of the FEtC-H (I will continue to fulfill that role), I have been working extensively with the Portal Development Team of the Center for Digital Humanities to keep the FEtC-H portal up to date. Together with them, the FEtC, the privacy officers, the data manager and with input from researchers, I will first start working on the basic modules for the Research Portal.

Secretary/member Faculty Ethics assessment Committee – Humanities

I am the secretary/member of both chambers (General and Linguistics) of the Faculty Ethics assessment Committee – Humanities (FEtC-H)

Manager Babylab for Language Research (part of the ILS Labs)

The Babylab for Language Research is part of the Institute for Language Sciences (ILS) Labs. In this Babylab, research is done on how babies acquire their mother tongue. Further, bilingualism and the effect of (a risk of) dyslexia on language acquisition are also investigated. The Babylab is located at Janskerkhof 13a.
