Christian Wicke works as an Assistant Professor in Political History. He is interested in the histories of nations, regions and cities especially in relation to the politics of history and representations of identity. He has worked in nationalism studies and contemporary German history, and is involved in an international network discussing historical cultures and heritage under conditions of deindustrialisation. His current focus is on the history of urban movements.
