The International Service Desk (ISD) strives to make sure that all new employees that come to work for Utrecht University from abroad feel welcome and make a smooth landing.

The HR department informs the ISD as soon as a foreign staff member is recruited. Depending on the paperwork that has to be done, me or one of my colleagues will contact the new staff member a few months before moving to the Netherlands. From that moment on, we take the new staff member through all the formalities that must be done. Depending on the situation, we will apply for a residence permit. We also help employees that are eligible for the 30% facility to apply to the Tax Administration.
