Beatrice Guardini is a Ph.D. Candidate at the Department of Human Geography and Spatial Planning with the supervision of Prof. Niki Frantzeskaki and Prof. Katharina Hölscher. She works as a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellow within the SUNSET project (HORIZON-MSCA-DN), where she researches learning by engagement with biodiversity as a pathway in the urban transformation. She is particularly interested in socio-behavioural dynamics in public spaces, the role of place-based experimentations to preserve and enhance biocultural diversity.
Beatrice holds an M.Sc. in Environmental Psychology from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, a Masters in Sustainability Science from the University of Gävle (Sweden) and a B.Sc. in Landscape Design and Planning from the University of Rome La Sapienza (Italy). Before joining Utrecht University, she obtained a research scholarship at the University of Padova (Italy) to explore the transformative role and health benefits of emergent green care initiatives. She also worked for a local philanthropic foundation supporting community-led project development through capacity building and co-design activities.
