Brechtje van Zeijts is a postdoctoral researcher within the NWA-project titled ‘Becoming literate in a digital age: Adapting reading education in the Netherlands’. She develops a pedagogical-didactical framework to guide reading education in the digital age. 

She completed her PhD in Educational Sciences at the Erasmus University Rotterdam. Her dissertation focuses on reading comprehension instruction in primary school. She compared children's comprehension processes for informative texts and videos and explored the potential use of audio and videos within reading education.
