I am currently Assitant Professor in Media Studies at Utrecht University, where I teach in the CIW and MCW bachelor's programs.  I did a research master at Utrecht University in Media and Performance Studies, with a specialty in sport media and fandom, my PhD at Erasmus University Rotterdam, where my dissertation, Placing Fandom, focused on film tourism and fan use of place, and postdoctoral research with the CADEAH project at Utrecht University, researching how individuals and groups reappropriate and recirculate audiovisual heritage materials.. My general research interests are audience practices and uses of media, fandom, the television industry, and how all of these things intersect.
