Abdulkader Kaakeh is an Assistant Professor of Finance at Utrecht University School of Economics and program director of the  Master's in Financial Management program.

His research examines how physical and reputational risks, like natural disasters and corruption, get priced into corporate financial outcomes, including credit ratings, and lending markets. A second line of work studies entrepreneurial finance, including how repeat entrepreneurs raise capital through crowdfunding. His research has been published in the Journal of Business Venturing, the Journal of Banking and Finance, and Business Strategy and the Environment.

Before entering academia, Abdulkader spent a decade in the banking industry, structuring and managing retail and SME credit products. This background continues to shape the applied, decision-relevant part of his research. He teaches Valuation in Mergers & Acquisitions at the graduate level and International Financial Management at the undergraduate level.

Abdulkader holds a PhD and MA from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, was an Academic Visitor at the University of Oxford, and holds an MBA in International Finance from the American University in Dubai.
