In my research I apply rock magnetic techniques to understand the deformation and diagenesis of sediments in active tectonic zones. A key research activity focusses around the development of rock magnetic techniques that allow to identify the locus of fluid migration and frictional heating in active and exhumed fault zones. I also have a broader interest in paleomagnetism and am involved in projects that involve the dating of marine sediments from IODP drill core, and effusive volcanic rocks using paleomagnetic techniques.
