Amalia Gilodi PhD

Amalia Gilodi is a Postdoctoral researcher at the European Research Center on Migration and Ethnic Relations (ERCOMER) at Utrecht University. In her research, she adopts an interdisciplinary focus and a reflexive and critical approach for the study of various topics including experiences of racism and marginalization, colonial legacies, intergroup relations and conditions of vulnerability and privilege. 

She is currently involved in the European Project CONCILIARE, investigating representations, reactions and opportunities relative to changes in colonial cultural heritage, particularly in racialized products of cultural consumption.

Amalia obtained a PhD in Psychology from the University of Luxembourg with a thesis critically examining the concept of vulnerability in the context of migration and international protection and its potential as an analytical category in the context of Luxembourg. At UL, she also worked out of the Geography department for the EU project MIMY, investigating the integration of young migrants living in vulnerable conditions in Europe. 

Amalia is committed to conduct ethical research that contributes to the wellbeing of marginalized communities and the development of a more just society.
