Short bio: I first studied Medical imaging techniques and worked for four years at the university hospital in Utrecht, The Netherlands. After this, I started studying again, completed my Psychology bachelor with a minor in juvenile delinquency, and graduated cum laude for the research master Development and Socialization of Children and Adolescents. I obtained my PhD (also cum laude and awarded the APA-award for best dissertation of division 5) on applying Bayesian statistics to real-life data at the Department of Methods and Statistics. I have been awarded all three individual grants for excellence from the Dutch Research Council (NWO): a VENI for early career scientists (on Integrating background knowledge about traumatic stress experienced after trauma into statistical models assessing individual change over time), a VIDI to start a research group (on Experts, their prior knowledge, and the issue of limited data), and recently a VICI for continuing the development of ASReview.
