Frank van der Stappen is a Professor in the Engineering Department at University College Roosevelt and in the Geometric Computing group in the Algorithms division of the Department of Information and Computing Sciences at Utrecht University. He received MSc and PDEng degrees from Eindhoven University of Technology in 1988 and 1990 and a PhD degree from Utrecht University in 1994. His research interests include robotic manipulation and grasping, robot motion planning, algorithmic automation, simulation, animation, and geometric algorithms. He has been named IEEE Fellow in 2017 for his contributions to the algorithmic foundations of robotics and automation.
