Postdoctoral researcher in the Ethics Institute, working in the project Visions for the Future, with Prof. dr. Ingrid Robeyns. She previously worked as an invited teaching assistant at Nova School of Business and Economics in Lisbon, lecturing the course on Ethics.
Catarina earned a PhD in Philosophy from University of Minho with a thesis on Unconditional Basic Income entitled “Acknowledging the gift: how an unconditional basic income encourages reciprocity”. Her project was funded by FCT - Foundation for Science and Technology in Portugal (reference SFRH/BD/144495/2019). Catarina is also the co-author of a book on basic income experiments - Basic Income Experiments. A Critical Examination of Their Goals, Contexts, and Methods (2022) – published by Palgrave Macmillan.
Catarina was trained in Political Science and International Relations (Bsc at NOVA/FCSH in Lisbon) and has a masters in international management with a minor in social enterprise (Nova School of Business and Economics in Lisbon).
