Brick by Brick: Build Your Path with LEGO Serious Play
LEGO® Serious Play (LSP) is a hands-on workshop method that helps you explore ideas, goals, and challenges by building 3D models with specially designed LEGO® bricks. The process—and its outcomes—can be individual (personal insight and reflection) or collective (shared understanding and co-created solutions).
Sometimes you’ll build alone to clarify priorities and surface tacit knowledge; other times, teams combine individual models to solve problems and co-design practical solutions. For example, when redesigning a small shared learning space, one model might show a quiet sensory area, another a group-project zone, and another a cozy recharge corner. Bringing those models together can reveal important design requirements and inspire ways to make the ideas coexist (e.g., via modular furniture, integrated tech, or plant screens).
LSP also works for abstract topics. You can build models of “what motivates you” or “how you approach problems,” then use them to streamline career goals or surface team dynamics. By turning ideas—such as problem-solving approaches, team vision, or collaboration style—into tangible, shareable models, LSP makes ideas visible and actionable.
By putting your ideas into your hands—alone or with others—you’ll:
See your behavioral patterns, motivations, and aspirations more clearly.
Discover new ways to tackle problems creatively.
Learn a method you can use to reflect, plan, and grow.
