Event: Workshop on Personal and Human-Centric Process Mining

Stemming from international collaboration within the Future of Work network, Iris Beerepoot (Utrecht University), Adela del Río Ortega (Universidad de Sevilla), and Thomas Grisold (University of St. Gallen) organized the workshop Personal and Human-Centric Process Mining (PHPM), collocated with the 7th International Conference on Process Mining (ICPM 2025) in Montevideo, Uruguay.

Where process mining research traditionally focuses on analyzing and improving organizational workflows, this workshop shifted the lens towards personal and human-centric aspects. Participants explored methodologies, tools, and real-world cases, and reflected on key challenges including data collection methods such as desktop logs and wearable devices, privacy preservation, ethical considerations, and personalized visualization techniques. Topics ranged from productivity enhancement and well-being to critical reflections on potential downsides, including surveillance concerns. The outcomes of the workshop were submitted to the journal Process Science.
