Themanummer Utrecht Law Review: Families, Individuals and Human Rights

Op 8 oktober 2024 is het themanummer van de Utrecht Law Review gepubliceerd over ‘Families, Individuals and Human Rights’, met daarin vier bijdragen van UCERF onderzoekers.

In deze uitgave worden de raakvlakken tussen mensenrechten en het personen- en familierecht verkend. Het themanummer bundelt vier bijdragen geschreven door UCERF onderzoekers:

• No-bodies Human Rights. An Interdisciplinary Exploration of Bodies in Human Rights, door Jet Tigchelaar & Brenda Oude Breuil; 
• Comparing the Decision-making Rights of Adults with Declining Cognitive Abilities with Those of Children, door Charlotte Mol & Fiore Schuthof;
• The Legal Representation of Parents and Children During Placement Procedures in the Light of Article 8 ECHR, door Iris Reinders & Joost Huijer;
• The Right of Contact Between Grandparents and Grandchildren and the Implementation of Article 8 ECHR in Dutch National Law: A comparative study of Dutch, Belgian, English and Norwegian law, door Merel Jonker & Christina Jeppesen de Boer.

Daarnaast bevat het themanummer een redactioneel van gastredacteur Charlotte Mol: Not ‘the Norm’: Families, Individuals and Human Rights.

In het eerste kwartaal van 2025 organiseert UCERF twee webinars waarin nader wordt gereflecteerd op de bevindingen uit de Special Issue. Meer informatie hierover volgt in de UCERF nieuwsbrief van januari 2025.
