Successful First Utrecht Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Conference

On Thursday the 7th of March, the First Utrecht Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Conference took place. Almost 25 abstracts were presented by teachers and more than 100 participants came to learn from their colleagues. We look back on an inspiring conference with a wide variety of interesting abstracts and posters. Clearly, there is a huge interest in scholarly approaches to teaching and learning.

The Utrecht Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Conference, which will be organised annually from now on, aims to provide a platform for disseminating improvements in teaching and learning in Higher Education in an open, inspiring and stimulating atmosphere. After three workshops on how to start a scholarly teaching inquiry project, methods to gather evidence and writing for publication about education, it was time to walk around. Academic teachers in all disciplines presented their posters with scholarly approaches of teaching or more profound research on education within their discipline. After the success of this first conference we already look forward to organizing the next one in 2020!
