Susan te Pas is Associate Dean of Undergraduate Education and Professor of Cognitive Psychology of Higher Education at the faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences of Utrecht University.

Susan's research covers a wide range of topics within the domain of  cognitive psychology and vision science. It includes topics such as perception of motion, shape, material properties, light fields and more recently perceptual learning. She has always had a strong interest in teaching and learning, and has taught courses in several bachelor and master programs such as Psychology, Physics, Artificial Intelligence, University College Utrecht and Neuroscience and Cognition. At the Psychology department, she was  coordinator of the Freshman year and initiated the Psychology Freshmen Colleges. She has also coordinated the PhD program for the Helmholtz Research School and was responsible for the academic master Psychology.

Susan has held appointments in Oxford and Nijmegen before becoming an assistant professor at Utrecht University in 2001. In 2006 she became associate professor and as such she has been responsible for part of the psychology curriculum. In 2011 she became the first Teaching Fellow of the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences at Utrecht University. In 2012 she was appointed Professor of Cognitive Psychology of Higher Education. She was appointed Associate Dean of Undergraduate Education in September 2012 and has recently been reappointed for a second term.
