Peter Lugtig (1983) studeerde politicologie aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam en promoveerde in 2012 aan de Universiteit Utrecht op een proefschrift naar meet- en nonresponsfouten in panel studies.

Op dit moment is hij Universitair Hoofddocent aan de afdeling Methodenleer en Statistiek, Universiteit Utrecht. Zijn onderzoek richt zich op het verbeteren van het design en de analyse van panel studies en survey methodologie.
