I'm currently working at Mitsubishi Electric Research Labs in Cambridge, MA, USA (Summer Intern in Computational Sensing Group). An overview of the work can be accessed here. I'm particularly working on 'Inverse Scattering Problem' with Dr. Hassan Mansour and Dr. Petros Boufounos.

I am a final year PhD student in Mathematics at Utrecht University. I work with Dr. Tristan van LeeuwenProf. Wim Mulder (Shell and TU Delft) and Prof. K. Joost Batenburg (CWI) in the field of geometric inverse problems. My PhD project is part of ‘Computational Sciences for Energy Research’ (CSER), funded by NWO and Shell Global Solutions International B.V.

I completed my bachelors and masters from Department of Aerospace Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, in 2015. I worked with Prof. N. Hemachandra and Prof. R. P. Shimpi on the topic of 'risk aversion in competitive aviation markets'.

I am passionate about education and have been involved in educational outreach and mentoring activities. Along with research and education, I cherish interesting conversations on startup and artificial intelligence.

Reconstruction of Salt Bodies in Seismic Full-Waveform Inversion
The interior of the earth can be imaged using seismic waves by solving a non-linear inverse problem. Such images are the main tool for locating oil and gas reservoirs in geologically complex areas. Of special interest are subsurface salt bodies, as reservoirs are often found next to or underneath them. Resolving such salt bodies is challenging and new techniques are needed to obtain better images of the structures beneath the salt. We aim to develop such techniques by including prior information in the reconstruction; salt bodies are continuous objects with (known) constant properties. The reconstruction of such objects is the subject of discrete tomography, and effective algorithms have been developed for linear inverse problems in tomography. Generalizing these techniques to non- linear problems, we can obtain more accurate estimates of the shape of the salt bodies and the properties of the earth
layers beneath them.
The Project is funded by Industrial Collaboration of Foundation of Fundamental Research on Matter (NWO-FOM) and Royal Dutch Shell. It is a part of Industrial Partnership Program (IPP) 'Computational Sciences for Energy Research.'

The research output is available on Researchgate and Github.
