Light competition drives the effects of herbivores and nutrients on plant diversity

In this paper published in Nature we provide the first direct experimental evidence in natural communities that competition for light is a major mechanism of plant diversity loss under eutrophication and loss of herbivory. The paper was highlighted by Eric Allan in the Nature News and Views and made the cover of Nature.

New experts survey considerably extends the global biodiversity knowledge by underrepresented species groups and regions and shows that more species could be threatened with extinction than previously thought.
