Prof. dr. W Kets
Hoogleraar
This track is designed for students who wish to specialize in:
An attractive feature of this track is that you can take courses at the Utrecht School of Economics as part of the track. It also provides opportunities to explore connections with computer science or machine learning techniques.
The two subtracks are organised as follows:
| Mathematical Finance | Mathematical Economics |
|---|---|
| This subtrack provides you with the mathematical background to understand and develop advanced mathematical and numerical techniques to solve complex finance-related problems. You will learn to model financial markets, analyze economic data using statistical methods, and use optimization for decision-making. Additionally, you will acquire skills in stochastic mathematics, numerical analysis, and machine learning algorithms, enabling you to tackle challenges in financial engineering, risk management, and quantitative analysis. You can specialize in either numerical methods and stochastic models or in machine (statistical) learning and data science. | This subtrack provides you with the mathematical background to understand and develop advanced mathematical and numerical techniques to solve complex finance-related problems.
