Vincent Hoogerheide is an assistant professor at the Department of Education at Utrecht University. He studied Developmental and Educational Psychology at Erasmus University Rotterdam, and in 2011, Vincent obtained his master’s degree cum laude (the highest distinction in the Netherlands). After a brief period of working as a researcher, Vincent started working as a PhD candidate in 2012 at the Institute of Psychology at Erasmus University Rotterdam. His PhD project, supervised by prof.dr. Tamara van Gog and prof.dr. Sofie Loyens, focused on the effects of learning by observing and creating video examples, and he obtained his doctorate in 2016 (cum laude). During his PhD project, Vincent was appointed as the junior coordinator of the European Association for Research on Learning and Instruction Special Interest Group 7 (Learning and Instruction with Computers; 2013-2017). Vincent was awarded the Rubicon grant (2018) and was a visiting postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Psychology of the University of Freiburg (2018-2019), where he conducted learning-by-teaching research together with Prof.dr. Alexander Renkl.
