The project focuses on transnational knowledge migrants (i.e. urban designers at the intersection with technology, culture and sustainability) in the creative industries and their role in shaping the urban as digital space. Creative knowledge migrants constitute an ideal case since they are "transversal enablers" that are able to connect local urban spaces to global ones. An analysis of their use of social media in cities allows for an understanding of the ways physical and digital spaces intersect and the role of these migrants in shaping the local through communicative practice and grouping processes. We carry out a pilot that will allow us to test the methodology based on language technology and social network analysis.

Development of a geo-game for urban planning. It takes as case study one of the largest low-income areas in Mumbai (India),which is called Dharavi. We turn the intial game from a single player to a multiplayer game and we add a chat-box for the collection of language data. The utlimate goal is to to investigate whether certain
spatial configurations (physical/F2F vs. digital/online) can support consensus finding (in urban planning) better than others through a quantitative analysis of the language data.

The goal of the project is to support the process of education and consensus building in city development among various stakeholders: government, urban planners, citizens and intellectuals. It takes a media, communication, and cultural studies approach to urban change. We also aim to set the basis for imagining alternative spaces in Asian cities through the use of games, literature, films that can be a source of inspiration for urban planners and governments.

The project intends to carry out an interdisciplinary study on the challenges of ageing and sustainable development in urban areas. These are the themes that will be addressed: green urbanization, food sustainability and elderly urban behavior analysis through Information and Language technology.
