Role: Coordinator WP1: Utilizing sequence data to improve national PRRS virus eradication plan
Aims: Four-year PhD project on prioritizing between-farm transmission routes of PRRSv, identification of virulent strains and measures to eradicate the virus from farms. 

PROVED (2025 - 2029): Porcine RespiratOry Virus Evolution and Dynamics
Role: Coordinator and daily supervisor PhD project
Aim: Identify useability of genetic sequence data in combination with epidemiological data to study transmission of porcine respiratory viruses (swine flu and PRRS virus) on several levels, from within-farm, to across-country dynamics.

MOEDIG (2023 - 2027): Moleculaire Epidemiologische Diagnostiek voor Interventiemogelijkheden ten aanzien van Griep (influenza) op varkensbedrijven (Molecular Epidemiological Diagnostics for Interventions against Influenza on pig farms)

Role: Coordinator WP 5: Transmission Dynamics of swine influenza A virus
Aims WP 5: Identify the key routes of introduction of swine flu in a group of farrowing piglets, by field sampling and integrating epidemiological and viral genetic data.

EU-JAMRAI-2: Joint Action, Antimicrobial Resistance and Healthcare Associated Infections
Role: Participation in WP 7: Infection Prevention and Control (IPC), focus on animal health.
Aims: Determine key health and biosecurity measures in animal husbandry to reduce antimicrobial usage, and create educational programs to facilitate knowlegde dissemination and information exchange between IPC professionals.
