My research focuses on the connection between children’s relations with peers and their psychosocial problems and well-being. The peer relations range from the group level (e.g., classroom status, dominance, bullying), dyadic level (e.g., friendship, cooperation), and individual level (e.g., social competence, social self-esteem).

In terms of methodology, I use both peer assessment techniques (e.g., https://github.com/UtrechtUniversity/Qualtrics-Peer-Reports), self-report questionnaires, and observations.

I collaborate with researchers inside and outside UU, at home and abroad and from different disciplines (e.g., Primatology, Economics, Medical Psychology). Through several initiatives and grants, I created my own area of research within the department of Clinical Child and Family Studies.
