My name is Mandy, and I am a PhD candidate at the Organisational Behaviour research group. I hold a Research Master's degree in Sociology and Social Research from Utrecht University.

My research interests are wide-ranging, but primarly related to the domain of behavioral change, group dynamics, inequality and diversity & inclusion.

Currently I am working on the PhD project "Should we? How appeals to moral responsibility affect group-level behavioral change" together with Dr. Félice van Nunspeet, Prof. dr. Vincent Buskens, and Prof. dr. Naomi Ellemers.

The primary aim of our project is to explore the negative effect of appeals to people’s moral responsibility as well as how can we diminish these effects. In order to turn a vicious cycle of avoiding moral responsibility and a lack of behavioural change into a virtuous one, including the intrinsic motivation and subsequent efforts to establish actual behavioural improvements. Hereby, the focus of this project is on group-level behavioral change.

The PhD project is part of a broader framework established by the Sustainable Cooperation (SCOOP) project.
