Dr Konstantinos (Kostas) Serdaris is assistant professor within the Department of International and European Law at Utrecht Law School.

Konstantinos specialises in EU financial law, with particular focus on capital markets law, corporate finance and corporate governance. He is also particularly interested in regulatory theory, especially with reference to EU law and its integration processes. Moreover, he has conducted research and published papers on various issues of tort and contract law.

Prior to joining Utrecht University, Konstantinos worked as Lecturer within the Law School of the University of Southampton. He is also an EU Qualified lawyer, admitted to the Athens Bar Association since 2015. In that capacity, he has, among others, worked as associate lawyer in top-tier law firms in Athens, while he has served as legal advisor to the Minister of Environment & Energy and later to the Minister of Interior of the Hellenic Republic.

Konstantinos holds a PhD in Law from the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence.  His PhD research was conducted under the supervision of Prof. Dr. iur. Dr. phil. Stefan Grundmann and was fully funded by the Hellenic State Scholarship Foundation (IKY) and the EUI.

He is a native Greek speaker, fluent in English and Italian and comfortable with German and French.
