Jiaxin Liu is a PhD candidate specializing in emerging technology and cultural heritage experience. Her dissertation entitled 'Unlocking the Past: Bridging Art, History, and Young People’s Media Environment Through Multisensory Extended Reality (XR) Engagement'. Her research explores the potential of multisensory XR in museums and art galleries. Before Utrecht University, Jiaxin received her BA in Art and Design from Tianjin University of Commerce (2015) and MA in Visual Communication from The University of Bergen (2022). She has designed and developed award-winning projects 'Rembrandt VR' and 'Rembrandt Atelier AR'. 'Unlocking the Past' in different ways has been a big part of her research and creative practices.
