I am a postdoctoral researcher contributing to the Water4All ClimEx-PE (Climate Extremes buffering through groundwater flow-based Managed Aquifer Recharge and Public Engagement) project, which focuses on the potential for nature-based Managed Aquifer Recharge (NB-MAR) in various regional contexts, including Hungary, Ireland, and Spain. My research focuses on exploring the social and economic factors influencing these techniques, investigating stakeholder awareness, values, and perceptions related to sustainable water management. The aim of this research is to develop suitable communication formats to foster stakeholder participation and collaboration in water management and climate change planning, helping to foster cooperation and inform local/regional policy.

Prior to this position I completed my PhD at the University of Massachusetts, Boston where I studied nature-based strategies (NBS) for coastal flood protection in urban areas to address risks associated with sea-level rise (SLR). My research was based in the city of Boston where I investigated the influence of human values and interactions in determining adaptation responses, including proposed local climate change adaptation strategies and policies such as shore-based NBS. My work focused on identifying and mapping the values of various stakeholder groups through interviews, focus groups, and qualitative analysis to inform local policy and explore the potential for transformational adaptations.

As a researcher I seek opportunities to enhance understanding of the socio-economic and political processes that shape the choice of climate change adaptation strategies and the potential for transformative outcomes for communities.
