Jossie van Til-Duijsters is an external PhD candidate in History at Utrecht University. She studied Cultural Sciences and Art at the Open University in Heerlen. In 2013 she finished her master thesis Utrecht 1813-1848, a regional capital in a time of change on the position of a regional capital, which had lost her independence in the new state formed in 1813/1815. From 2016 she is an external PhD candidate in History; the project title is: The generation of 1813, the new monarchy and her role in the European security culture.
