Inge Claringbould is Associate Professor at the Utrecht School of Governance, Utrecht University.
Inge Claringbould teaches courses and lectures on managing and organizing diversity, inclusion and social responsibility in sport organizations. And she guides students who write their thesis on these subjects. Additionally, she teaches courses on philosophy of social science and methods of qualitative research.
In her research Inge Claringbould focuses on issues of inclusion such as safety, fair play, inclusion, integrity, harrassment and undermining in sport. She studied for example the gender construction in sport governance, the role of parents in reproducing gender roles in sport, cross-border behavior in football, the construction of integrity in football and undermining in football. Inge Claringbould is interested in all research topics related to issues of inclusion, diversity, security, integrity in (youth) sport and in how sport can be organized differently. In her research she aims at improving equal access to both sport participation and positions in sport, in realizing ‘good governance’ and ‘sport for all’. Thus tackling developments that threaten the concept of sport for and by all.
