I am an interdisciplinary researcher and teacher passionate about working with multiple stakeholders for the analysis, design, implementation and management of sustainable and multi-functional agroecosystems. The main focus of my research is biodiversity, ecosystem services, agroecology, agroforestry systems, soil functions and secondary forest succession. I also work to connect science with practice, extension and education, with the use of participatory and innovative methodologies.

I have a PhD in Plant sciences at Wageningen University, the Netherlands, and Soil sciences at Universidade Federal de Viçosa, Brasil.
