Huizhu Huang is a PhD candidate in Human Geography and Spatial Planning at Utrecht University.  She obtained her undergraduate degree from Xiamen University in 2020 and her master's degree at Nanjing University in 2023, both majoring in Urban and Rural Planning.

Her current research is centered on the relationship between nature-based solutions and transformative places in densely populated cities. Huizhu is conducting her research under the supervision of Dr. Niki Frantzeskaki and Dr. Yanliu Lin.
