Gabriëlla graduated from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU) with a master's degree in Communication Science. In May 2026, she obtained her PhD in conversational AI at Utrecht University. The topic of her PhD was ‘Customer Service Chatbots: From automation to cooperation’ where she researched human-chatbot cooperation and communication. Under the direct supervision of Charlotte van Hooijdonk, Florian Kunneman and promotors Hans Hoeken and Hedwig te Molder (VU), she worked on the ‘Smooth Operators: Research on personalized conversational agents in customer service’ project.
