Gijs Cremers is Assistant Professor at the Department of Cultural Anthropology. He studied Language and Culture Studies with a major in Latin American Studies and Cultural Anthropology at Utrecht University. His regional specialization is primarily Latin America (Guatemala and the Peruvian Andes), but as a researcher and a teacher, he has worked in different contexts such as Ireland and The Netherlands. His work more broadly engages with the fields of environmental anthropology and the anthropology of mining. As a researcher, he works with research methods such as photovoice, maps, and drawings.
