"I am inspired by methods and practices for producing intergenerational spaces where a community feeling can flourish. By walking and creating together while sharing each other's needs and skills the community spark can happen. I devoted my work to combining research and practice for providing societal changes."

Expertise

I am a postdoctoral researcher with Dynamics of Youth.

My expertise lies in community building through intergenerational participatory practices, especially focusing on art-based and interactive methods with children and young people.

During my years of practice as an architect and my research background, my goal has always focused on building a bridge between research and practice

Following this inspiration, during my postdoc, I focus on developing tools to positively impact the well-being of youth while also building stronger ties among the members of the research community working on youth studies from different disciplines.

Achievements

Due to my action-based approach, I was able to fund my PhD at the University of Amsterdam (UvA) through Dutch public institutions, such as Kerckebosch Zeist and the Gemeente Almere.

My research on youth engagement in the fringes of cities earned me the Isaac Roet Prize and joint grants from the Centre for Urban Studies (CUS).
