I am a historian of modern Germany, specializing in the staging of political authority. I am currently working on my second single-authored monograph, which will provide a new history of Germany’s Kanzlerdemokratie from Konrad Adenauer to Olaf Scholz. I am the author of the Wilhelm I as German Emperor: Staging the Kaiser (2024), which is published in Palgrave’s series Studies in Modern Monarchy. I am also the co-editor of Modernizing Europe’s Imperial Monarchies: Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Russia in the Nineteenth Century (2024). My research has also been published in several edited volumes, as well as German History.
