My name is Daan Wegener (Amsterdam, 1982). I am a lecturer at Utrecht University. Following my dissertation, A True Proteus: a History of Energy Conservation in German Science and Culture, 1847-1914 (Utrecht, 2009), I have been teaching introductory and advanced courses in topics related to the history of science. My range of interest includes the history of knowledge, the history of physics and chemistry, representations of science in literature and video games, and the complex historical relation between magic and science.
