Estefanía Lozano Andrés is interested in the study of Extracellular Vesicles (EVs), which are nano-sized vesicles released by cells. EVs contain selected proteins, lipids and nucleic acids that reflect the status and origin of cells. Estefanía finished her PhD studies as a Marie Sklodowska-Curie candidate in the research group of Prof. Marca Wauben (Innovative Training Network, TRAIN-EV), where she investigated the use of high-sensitivity flow cytometry to bring to light the characterization of EV subsets and exploit the several opportunities that lay ahead in the use of EV as biomarkers.
Furthermore, Estefanía manages the Center for Flow Cytometry and FACS (CFC). Where she shares her passion for flow cytometry while educating scientists in the technology.
