Sectie Economics

I am a PhD Candidate in Economics working on Lobbying and Political Influences in Europe. I am part of the consortium of researchers called DemoTrans, aiming to better understand the relationship between Democracy and Globalization.  My research focus on lobbying behavior of firms and their market and non-market implications. More specifically,  I use Natural Language Processing (NLP) models and text-as-data analysis to explore the potential influence of gatekeepers on the legislative procedure in Europe. Second, I work on the influence of politically connected firms on misallocation and efficiency.
