Career

Prof Salvatori is a veterinarian and a European certified pathologist. She leads the Anatomy and Physiology group and she is from 2020 the chairperson of the working group " Transition to Animal-free Innovations Utrecht"(TPI Urecht). Prior joining the veterinary faculty in August 2019, she was employed at Leiden University Medical Center (2008-2019), where she was Director of the Central Animal Facility and responsible  for the comparative pathology unit. Before Joining the LUMC Daniela worked as senior scientist for Crucell (now Johnson & Johnson) responsible with her group for  Molecular Biological and cell culture based techniques for vaccine process characterisation studies and cell banking. She worked from 2004 to 2005 at the Royal Veterinary College, London as lecturer in pathology. She obtained her PhD in 2004, studying epidemiology and pathogenesis of Ovine Pulmonary Adenocarcinoma at Edinburgh University and at the Moredun Research institute.
