David is an external PhD candidate at the Department of Human Geography and Spatial Planning, supervised by prof. Dr. Ilse van Liempt. 
His PhD-study focuses on the area development of the Merwe-Vierhavengebied in Rotterdam. In this study, he investigates the relationship with the surrounding neighborhoods, focusing on the role of social infrastructure, viewed from a spatial justice perspective.

David completed his Bsc Human geography and MSc Urban geography at the Universiteit van Amsterdam. He subsequently worked at consultancy firms and government institutions and now works in higher education. He works as a lecturer at Hogeschool Rotterdam and as a researcher at Hogeschool Inholland. His research focuses on socio-spatial themes.
