Chuanhe Wang is a PhD candidate at the Institute for Cultural Inquiry and the Department of Media and Culture Studies, Utrecht University.
Chuanhe Wang has a background in art history, fine art, film, and cultural studies. He obtained his BA degree in Art Studies from Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in 2020 and his MA degree in Film Studies from the University of Southampton in 2023. He specializes in film theory and practice, having previously worked as a director at China Central Television (CCTV), where he primarily directed documentaries on Chinese culture and art, earning multiple awards for his films.
Chuanhe Wang is currently doing a PhD research project under the supervision of Professors Judith Keilbach and Marijke de Valck. His research focuses on the development and strategies of sustainable film production in China, with an emphasis on the environment, media infrastructure, sustainability, and filmmaking. He aims to explore the potential for sustainable film production in China.
