I'm doing research using psychophysiological methods, mostly using changes in pupil size or eye movements (and more recently EEG) to investigate cognition and perception. I focus on visual and spatial attention: Where and how do we deploy visual attention over time? Why do we move our eyes the way we do it? What are its overarching principles and how do our brains achieve this?
I'm a fundamental scientist at core. Still, I look into ways to apply these insights, e.g., in human factors research, human-computer interaction, in neuropsychology, or ophthalmology.
Besides, I always try to have at least one creative exploration project running: How can we, in the coolest way possible, use the methods I use to uncover cognitive and perceptual phenomena? This is open ended, fun and curiosity driven.
