Corina Mavrodin is Assistant Professor in the History of International Relations within the Department of History and Art History. She specialises in modern European history, with particular emphasis on Eastern Europe within the context of the global Cold War. Her current research focuses on multilateralism and Eastern Europe's relationship to the Global South.
Corina completed her PhD at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). She has a background in International Studies (BA) and International Relations and African Studies (MA). Prior to entering academia, she worked for government, NGOs and international organizations. Corina has taught various courses in History and International Relations in both Europe and Asia. At Utrecht University she is involved in teaching at all levels.
Corina has published several academic and journalistic texts. Her book, 'Romania and the Cold War: The Roots of Exceptionalism, 1953-63' will soon be published by Palgrave Macmillan (London). She is a former Max Weber Fellow at the European University Institute (Florence, Italy) and an ICR Fellow at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars (Washington, DC).
